How-To: Art-in-Nature

Materials:

 

  • Natural/organic resources
  • Optional: Paper and Glue

Steps:

  1. Go outside: start by heading out to a natural space! (ex. backyard, park, beach, etc)
  2. Gather materials: collect natural objects! (ex. leaves, twigs, rocks, flowers, shells, etc.) Find things that are appealing to you.
  3. Create a visual representation of your environment, or create a nature collage by gluing your materials onto a surface (ex. paper, park table, ground, etc).

 

Reflection: This activity allows you to connect with the environment around you, and be more mindful about the organic materials that are often disregarded. Additionally, being outside can improve mood, decrease anxiety levels, and improve attention. Doing this nature-based art activity is sure to make you feel better!
